India-France Business Summit

The business event seeking to strengthen the strategic partnership between France and India

On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, the Indian Embassy in France organized the India-France Business Summit, followed by a CEO lunch with ministers Piyush Goyal, Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, and Olivier Becht, Minister Delegate responsible for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad. A gala dinner attended by ministers of the French and Indian governments also took place.

This India-France business forum was held at the InterContinental Paris Le Grand Hotel to mark the 25th anniversary of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Centered on the theme “Together for a new world”, several round tables were organized with around thirty very high-level speakers. The unifying themes were :

Innovation
Defense
India-France partnership, a springboard for Europe and the Indo-Pacific region

The economic key players present, which were representatives of SMEs and large Indian and French groups, had the opportunity to identify the new promising market trends between the two countries.

Laurent Saint-Martin, Chief Executive Officer at Business France, was present for the inauguration of the event, during which he spoke about the partnership and the co-development established between the two nations, highlighting the links between India and France. The considerable support provided by the Business France teams for French SMEs/mid-size companies in India was also praised.

Olivier Becht, Minister Delegate responsible for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad, focused on the 700 French businesses currently operating in India, which today employ more than 450,000 people.

France is an attractive country for Indian investors, with 210 Indian subsidiaries currently operating across the country. This number reflects the great success of the Business France teams, along with their regional partners within Team France Invest, in their daily missions to attract foreign investors.
