Launch of the “Scale-up Europe” initiative
Bringing together around 400 participants, the “Scale-Up Europe” initiative was launched on March 4 by Cédric O, Minister of State with responsibility for the Digital Transition and Electronic Communications, and Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, to develop a series of recommendations for businesses to ensure an acceleration strategy for their growth.
The initiative bring forward the emergence of European technological champions, particularly in the digital field.
The project, which brings together more than 150 scale-up founders, investors, researchers, business and institutional leaders, aims to develop a series of recommendations to accelerate the emergence of European technological champions, particularly in the field of digital technology.
This unprecedented initiative will focus on four key themes to promote the emergence of scale-ups in Europe:
- The attraction and training of talent
- Access to funding
- Collaboration between startups and large groups
- The development of disruptive technologies
Members will participate in workshops during which they will be asked to share their thoughts about the four main issues.
The participants gathered within “scale-up Europe” will submit the summary of their proposals in June 2021 to the President of the Republic, so that the summary is brought to European level within the framework of the French Presidency of the European Union in 2022.
