Alan, a new unicorn
With a fundraising round of €185 million, Alan becomes a unicorn.
The startup Alan has just announced that it is joining the small circle of French unicorns, with a fundraising round of €185 million bringing its total valuation to €1.4 billion. The young business specializing in healthcare via a 100% digital insurance aims to recruit 400 new “Alaners” throughout Europe and to develop new services.
Launched five years ago by Jean-Charles Samuelian and Charles Gorintin, Alan is a personalized healthcare application, focusing on prevention. The business has 155,000 insured parties and 9,000 client businesses worth a total of €102 million in annual revenue.
The technology developed by this insurtech enables instantaneous reimbursement of healthcare and direct access to doctors via themed chats.
Alan has now become the 13th French unicorn.
